Yael Stone, who was born in Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as a prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael has received her NIDA diploma. Yael has been fortunate at a young age to have worked with the best storytellers and performers in Australia along with visionaries within the TV, film and theatre industry. Yael has a successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael's new life in New York City began when the production received a prestigious review at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Yael is co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery supports innovative creativity, writing and artistic endeavors in it's Bushwick studio.
